Danny Boy for Three Brass Quintets
This is an arrangement I'm working on for my University to be used as the finale for our brass ensembles concert... maybe...
It's arranged for the three brass quintets that we currently have at my University. The exact instrumentation is as follows:
BQ1:
2 Trumpets, 1 Horn,1 Euphonium, 1 Bass Trombone
BQ2:
2 Trumpets, 1 Horn, 1 Trombone, 1 Tuba
BQ3
2 Trumpets, 1 Horn, 1 Euphonium, 1 Tuba
Later, I'll be adding an extra chorus to the very end, but that one will also include the addition of a trumpet ensemble, horn choir, trombone quartet, and tuba euph ensemble that also exist at my school. I hope you enjoy!
Fantasie on Four Notes
"Fantasie on Four Notes" was written for a sort of game, or perhaps a challenge, in the forums on the website http://micromarching.com/. The game was started by Marcus Grant, and it consists of taking the four notes that he gives you (which he chooses by asking other members what their 4 favorite notes are) and using them to write a song. My four notes were G#, A#, E, and A, which were chosen by Arimurti Wardhani. I used these four notes mainly in the chordal structure of the piece, but they can also be found hiding in melodic passeges and arpeggiated patterns. The piece, written for the piano, is certainly not for the beginning, intermediate, or advanced pianist, as it would be considered a grade 8 of 9 if published, also known as concert level.
Anyways, I hope you enjoy my composition! Feel free to follow along with the sheet music below if you would like. :)
Preview
A short preview of the next Drum Corps Arrangement project I'm working on.
I don't really think it needs an introduction, as most of you will probably be able to tell what song it is within the first few seconds. If not, then oh well. Ask someone who knows. :)
This song was one of my favorites when I was a kid, and it still is. So I figured I would pay some homage to it with an arrangement for Drum Corps. So far, I'm just writing the Brass and Pit parts, but I would love to have a percussion writer to fill in the Battery and Auxiliary percussion for me. ;)
"O Magnum Mysterium" Preview
Morten Lauridsen's "O Magnum Mysterium", one of my favorite pieces ever, as arranged for brass band by Shawn Wright.
This is only the first half of the piece. I will be finishing the arrangement and posting the full recording hopefully within the next week.
Please enjoy, and leave a comment if you have any questions, comments, cares, or concerns. Thanks for listening!
Update of Banished Beyond's Circle of Life
Now updated with the latest soundfont I've been working on. It includes samples of Yamaha, Dynasty, and Pearl drumlines. The instruments used in this rendering were all Yamaha samples.
Trumpet-Horn Octet WIP
A WIP for a Trumpet and Horn Octet I'm working on. It's a little glitchy, due to rendering the high quality sounds, but oh well.
Lux Aurumque for Hornline
Eric Whitacre's world famous "Lux Aurumque" transcribed for hornline by yours truly.
Soundtrack Challenge
Whilst pondering video games, television, movies, and music one day, I came upon a great realization; most of the TV and movies we watch, as well as the video games we play, have absolutely horrible soundtracks or music. I then thought, "I wonder if I could put all those horrible commercial writers to shame with a soundtrack of my own." This composition is the result of that thought. I'll let you decide how I did. BTW, feel free to contact me if you would like me to write music for your short film or video game. :)Hummel Concerto Mvt 3 Orchestra Track
Here's the orchestra part to the third movement of the Hummel Concerto. It's intended as a backing track for a soloist to play with, which is why the solo trumpet part is missing. Everything you hear is MIDI data played through either a VST or a Soundfont in FL Studio 8 Demo Version. Also, all soundfonts and VSTi's used are either free or made by me. I hope you enjoy one of my most realistic MIDI tracks ever!
Untitled Flugelhorn Song
I just felt inspired today to record something. I happened to be playing flugel today, and this little ostinato (the repeating slur pattern) popped into my head. I just went from there, adding a bass part, and then improvising a melody over the top of everything else. I don't feel it's completely finished, but I just HAD to get it out! All samples were recorded in my study on a Blessing Artist model Flugelhorn made in Elkhart, Indiana, which is owned by my band director. Everything was recorded on an old, computer phone mic, edited in audacity, and then sequenced in FL Studio 8 Demo Version, where I added the reverb. Anyways, I enjoyed recording this little spur of the moment project, and I hope you do as well! thanks for all your support!
